Singapore Art & Design Tour Program

Day 1: Arrival Singapore
Upon arrival in Singapore, our English speaking guide will be there to welcome and assist the group with coach transfer and check-in at the hotel. Welcome dinner at the hotel.

Day 2 Marina Bay / Esplanade Theatres on the Bay / Singapore Art Science Museum / Red Dot Design Museum / Gardens by the Bay
Today we then proceed to the award winning design Marina Bay district known for its soaring skyscrapers, modern architecture, and impressive landmarks. It is a 360-hectare extension to the adjacent Central Business District, built on reclaimed land.

Our first stop this morning is to visit the Esplanade Theatres on the Bay, which is Singapore’s national performing arts centre. Its year-round line-up of about 3,000 performances presented by Esplanade, its collaboration partners and hirers include a diverse calendar of ticketed and non-ticketed programmes featuring dance, music, theatre, visual arts and more. Learn about architectural qualities together with the ethos behind the management of the arts centre and the development of the arts in Singapore, with a behind the scenes tour. The tour will cover both front-of-house and backstage facilities.

We then proceed to the Singapore Art Science Museum. Discover creativity at its best through art, science, design, media, architecture and technology. Included is a visit to the 3 exhibitions. Take a tour with us to find out more about the iconic structure of Art Science Museum and how its location had shaped its architectural plans. In this tour, you can also look forward to learning about some of the eco-friendly and sustainability features within the museum!

Following this is a visit to a unique Singapore attraction; the Red Dot Design Museum presents the latest trends in the international design scene, with a collection of more than 1,000 exhibits in the field of product design and communication design from over 50 countries.

We then proceed to the Gardens by the Bay which provides students with an opportunity to experience the development of modern Singapore. Set on 54 hectares the complex consists of two climate conservatories. Appreciate the unique technologies for long term conservation and sustainability. Students will enjoy the two Conservatories (Flower & Cloud dome). After dinner own arrangement will enjoy the Garden Rhapsody ‘Supertree Light and Sound Show’ This evening we will be dazzled by the magnificent sight of the Super trees and let the music and light entertain you at the Garden Rhapsody at Gardens by the Bay. Return back to the hotel.

Day 3 Visual Arts Centre / National Gallery / Asian Civilisations Museum / Bumboat River Cruise
Spend a leisurely morning at the Visual Arts Centre which is an exhibition gallery and art studio at Dhoby Ghaut Green. Students will enjoy a 2 hour Chinese Ink, Calligraphy or Batik Handkerchief Painting program workshop.

We then proceed Singapore is a feast of architectural styles and heritage, from classic European influences to ultra-modern designs inspired by great minds in Asia and the Middle East. Join this popular architecture walking tour to stroll along the downtown and civic area and learn about one of the most eclectic skylines in the world.

We then take a stroll through Singapore’s Civic District, the place rich in architectural styles and heritage, from classic European influences to ultra-modern designs inspired by great minds in Asia and the Middle East. Included is visits to the National Gallery and Asian Civilisations Museum.

The National Gallery showcasing more than 8,000 pieces from Singapore’s National Collection, making it one of the world’s largest and most invaluable public collections of Singapore and Southeast Asian modern art from the 19th century to the present day.

The Asian Civilisations Museum is devoted to exploring the rich artistic heritage of Asia, especially the ancestral cultures of Singaporeans. Just like Asia itself, this museum is a mix of the classic and the contemporary, with a historical facade, a modern interior and a timeless collection.

Later in the afternoon, you will enjoy a Bumboat River Cruise along the Singapore River. The Singapore River is like a witness to its history. On both sides of the river, you will see the colonial buildings, traditional Chinese shops, modern skyscrapers, each of them telling you a story. We then proceed back to the hotel.

Day 4: University of the Art Singapore / Art Museum / Singapore City Gallery / Brewing Workshop / Chinatown
This morning proceed to the University of the Arts Singapore. More than a contemporary architectural masterpiece. Explore the grounds of our award-winning campus, a contemporary architectural masterpiece that truly reflects arts education at its best.

After gain an in-depth understanding of Singapore’s progressive art scene at the Singapore Art Museum which has built one of the most important collections of contemporary art from the region, and its programming aims to introduce new artistic practices and styles to the public, as well as nurture discerning contemporary art audiences.

We then proceed to the Singapore City Gallery. Located in the government offices of Singapore’s Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA), this multi-level gallery explores the past, present, and future of Singapore’s development. Through its detailed exhibits, the Singapore City Gallery not only educates visitors about the city’s architectural achievements and urban planning excellence but also inspires with its vision for sustainability and community living. It’s an essential visit for anyone interested in architecture, urban planning, or simply wanting to understand the dynamic forces that shape this vibrant city.

After we proceed to a Brewing Workshop at Nanyang Coffeeshop Chinatown, experience the culture of Singapore Traditional Coffeeshop at Nanyang Coffee Chinatown. Experience a brewing workshop in our nostalgic 120 years conservation building. Also view the many exhibits of olden days Singapore in the museum.

Late this afternoon enjoy Chinatown with a walking tour of Chinatown, including the Dong Ya Building, the opulent Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and The Majestic, a former Cantonese opera house whose façade is an interesting mix of Chinese and Art Deco features and murials.

After a farewell dinner at a local restaurant, visit the vibrant and bustling marketplace China Town Night Markets, located on smith street in the heart of Chinatown. We proceed back to the hotel.

Day 5: Jewel Changi / Departure
We check-out of the hotel and transfer to Changi International Airport. The group will head on a tour of Jewel Changi Airport first. Your guide will introduce you to the fascinating sights of the airport, including the Crystal Clouds, HSBC Rain Vortex and Shiseido Forest Valley.
